In this community workshop, participants will learn how to cook with the free power of the sun and build their very own solar cooker using recycled materials. This is a great way to become less dependent on fossil fuels while using an abundant renewable source of energy - the sun!
Funds will be used for the following:
- Promotion: online, posters, advertising in local papers
- Materials: glue, tin foil, roasting bags, small black pots with lids, WAPIs for participants (the WAPI is a brilliant little device that tests if something you’re cooking has reached the pasteurization temperature and is therefore safe to consume)
- Honorarium for facilitator, Shawn Reeves of EnergyTeachers.org
- Documentation: Production of video of class that will be posted online so anyone can watch and learn how to make their own solar cooker
