Overview of Workshop

Food Font is a project where people make alphabets out of food, and later are able to use these and other food alphabets in the Food Font interactive web design tool. The workshop supports interaction and discussion about food and health.

The Specifics: How will the $1,000 help you host your workshop?

The $1000 funds would help pay for the materials and space to do a 2 part Food Font workshop.

The first workshop would be a workshop of making alphabets with food from local farms. Participants would create letter sets out of food. Each letter made would be photographed at the event. After this first event, the files would be edited by the workshop leader and loaded into the online Food Font interactive design tool.

The second workshop would be held in a computer lab. In this workshop, participants would use the Food Font design tool to create, save, and print images, posters, and signs using the food alphabets that they made as well as other food alphabets that other individuals and groups created.
