Overview of Workshop

Our mud-building workshop series will teach people to build an affordable, environment-friendly house with mud bricks. We will build a small house/office at Hariyo Chowk - an urban garden, artspace, and sustainable design center being built by artists and local residents in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The Specifics: How will the $1,000 help you host your workshop?

This workshop series will span the next few months, and we have already begun the process of building at our first workshop of the series where we made mud bricks (see photos on our Facebook page!). Our budget is very tight and this $1,000 will allow us to purchase the right materials that we need for our building, so that it is strong and of good quality. Among the materials we need are mud and sand, bamboo, some tools, used windows from the scrapyard, and materials for building a green roof.
